Other animals foraged. He accumulated. While the squirrels buried acorns, he was buying the forest, the burial rights, and a controlling stake in winter itself. The suit came later. The mindset was always there.
The boardroom
They said a rodent couldn't sit at the table. So he bought the table, the room, and the building's air rights. Now the board meets in his hot spring, and attendance is mandatory. Nobody has ever seen him blink during negotiations.
The money room
Somewhere there is a room where the bills fall like leaves and the stacks grow like grass, and in the middle of it he stands perfectly still, holding the means of protection. He does not count it. Counting implies it could run out.
